We’re calling on volunteers to donate their time and help us transform Wakefield Kirkgate Railway Station! On Saturday 8th February 2025, from 10am to 4pm, LonGBoaT Wakefield invites you to join our Station Adoption Day, where we’ll be working together to create a more welcoming and vibrant space for all.
What We’ll Be Doing:
Creating a new display in the Community Gallery to showcase local talent and community stories.
Arranging and maintaining planters around the station to brighten up the space and support biodiversity.
Developing an action plan to reach out to local businesses for support in our Adopt a Planter Scheme.
This is a fantastic opportunity to get involved with the community, meet new people, and make a real difference to one of Wakefield’s key transport hubs.
Why Volunteer?
Wakefield Kirkgate Station is an important gateway to our city, and through our Station Adoption Project, we aim to make it more welcoming, sustainable, and reflective of the community it serves. Whether you have a passion for gardening, creativity, or just want to lend a helping hand, everyone is welcome to take part.
