Visiting on Foot or by Car
​​​Our Wakefield Hub can be found in the Station Masters House; located to the right hand side of the main station building, if looking from the road, or by immediately turning left as you exit the station, walking along the glass balustrade walkway.

Depending on the time of your visit, we might not be able to offer free car parking.
The railway station car park is available to use, however there is a charge for this via RingGo cashless parking.
This is managed by Northern Railway and is currently priced at £1 for 1h or £2 for all day.

Visiting by Train 
Services into Wakefield Kirkgate are operated by Northern, Transpennine Express and Grand Central.

 

Services into Wakefield Westgate are operated by Northern, Cross Country and LNER. 
 

The two stations are linked by rail and a FreeCityBus; the walking time from Wakefield Westgate is approximately 25 mins

​​​​Visiting by Bus

Our nearest main bus stops are located on Doncaster Road: Kirkgate A and Kirkgate H.

 

​The Wakefield FreeCityBus  operates a circular service around the city center.

The FreeCityBus will pick up / drop off directly outside Wakefield Kirkgate Railway Station at Stand K7

​

Buses run every 10 - 12 minutes from 7.30am to 6.36pm Monday to Friday and between 8.30am and 5pm Saturdays. All journeys on the Wakefield freecitybus are free. Each vehicle is fully accessible and can carry one wheelchair at a time.
