Wakefield Community Pride will return on Sunday 9 August 2026, with a city-wide programme across Wakefield city centre and WX Wakefield Exchange as the central hub.
Building on 2025
In 2025, local people, venues, and partners came together to deliver a free, community-led Pride across multiple city-centre locations. The response showed the strength of a model shaped by the community itself, with inclusion and accessibility at its core.
That foundation now carries forward into 2026.
What to expect in 2026
This year’s programme will include:
Live entertainment
Community stalls
Family-friendly activities
An evening celebration
Events will take place across multiple venues in Wakefield city centre, with WX as a central point for activity and connection throughout the day.

Why the multi-venue approach matters
Wakefield Community Pride is designed to be open, accessible, and welcoming. Working across city-centre venues allows more people to take part in different ways, while bringing a shared Pride presence right across Wakefield.
It is a collaborative model, delivered with local organisations, venues, and community partners. Please get in touch with us if you wish your organisation to be involved in this years Wakefield Community Pride 2026.

Led by LonGBoaT Wakefield CIO
Wakefield Community Pride is organised by LonGBoaT Wakefield CIO, an LGBTQ+ charity established in 2018 and registered as a CIO since 2024.
LonGBoaT runs year-round community activity, including its LGBT+ Hub at Wakefield Kirkgate Railway Station, and developed the WF Safe Space Scheme to help local venues demonstrate inclusive practice for LGBT+ people and allies.
