A Big Thank You to Lost Cause Brewing Co

We had a cracking bank holiday weekend. A massive thank you to Lost Cause Brewing Co for inviting LonGBoaT Wakefield along to their very first All My Friends Beer Festival at their Wakefield taproom.

We spent the Sunday and Monday enjoying good company, plenty of chat and, yes, the occasional beer (when off duty) and pie. That's what volunteering looks like sometimes!

The festival ran from 27 to 31 August, bringing independent breweries together at Lost Cause's Wakefield home on Calder Vale Road, just a short walk from Wakefield Kirkgate Railway Station. There were plenty of beers across the weekend, alongside independent food, music and plenty going on throughout the festival.

For us, it was another chance to get out into the community, meet people and have conversations about the work LonGBoaT Wakefield does across the district.

We're particularly grateful to the Lost Cause team for making us feel so welcome and for giving us the opportunity to be part of their first Wakefield festival.

Supporting local matters

We love seeing local businesses creating spaces where people can simply turn up, enjoy themselves and feel welcome. Lost Cause Brewing Co has built its Wakefield taproom around exactly that idea. It's a relaxed, welcoming space just behind Kirkgate Station, with a clear focus on bringing people together.

That's something we can get behind.

A huge thank you again to everyone at Lost Cause, everyone who stopped to chat with us, and everyone who supported LonGBoaT Wakefield over the weekend.

And to everyone who made it through the festival... we hope you've recovered!
