Announcing Wakefield Community Pride Fringe 2025: A Celebration of Voice, Visibility and Belonging

LonGBoaT Wakefield are proud to launch this year’s Wakefield Community Pride Fringe - a local celebration of LGBTQ+ voices, creativity and community, taking place on 10th August 2025 across Wakefield City Centre.

This isn’t just a party. It’s a patchwork of expression, reflection, and joy woven together by and for the community we’re proud to be part of. Whether you’re coming with kids, friends, chosen family or just yourself, you’ll find something that speaks to you.

The Pride Fringe is built around connection. From Queer Talks that explore real stories and lived experience, to Open Mic sessions where anyone can take the mic, to Creative Writing workshops for those who prefer the page there’s a space for you here. Families can join us for Pride Storytime, explore community stalls, and take part in inclusive arts & crafts throughout the day.

Later, we’ll come together for a Pride Lunch at the New Union, and end the night in true Wakefield style with a full Afterparty.
