


Groundwork Yorkshire, funded by the UK Shared Prosperity Fund, is launching a new free programme of arts and horticulture at Kirkgate Station, Wakefield.
Starting 23 September 2025, sessions will take place every Tuesday and are open to all Wakefield residents. Participants may attend individual sessions or complete the full programme.

Programme Structure
Horticulture Programme (10am–12pm or 12.30–2.30pm)
Practical activities to develop green skills and improve the station environment, including terrarium making, wildlife habitats, wreath making, composting, mosaics, tree grafting, and propagation. A Level 1 qualification in Horticulture is also available for those interested.

Creative workshops inspired by Keith Haring and Henri Matisse. Sessions include drawing, painting, mural-making, collage, and a final exhibition displayed inside Kirkgate Station.
