Viral Track Joins the Yorkshire Brass Playlist at Wakefield Kirkgate

If you’ve ever wandered through the Wakefield Kirkgate subway and caught yourself humming along to the Horbury Victoria Brass playlist, you’re not alone — it’s become a bit of a hidden gem for passers-by and daily commuters alike. Well, there’s now a new addition tucked into the mix — and it’s a proper Wakefield Easter egg.

Thanks to local legend Chris Littlewood, we’ve snuck in his brilliant track “Wakefield” as a little surprise treat for anyone passing through the tunnel. If you're lucky, you might just time it right and catch it playing while you walk. And if you do — trust us, it's a moment.

Chris popped down himself recently and just happened to walk through while his song was playing. “Surreal, but brilliant,” he said — and we couldn’t agree more.

The song’s been making waves online too — especially over on TikTok, where it’s clocked over 23,000 views in just two days! Not bad for a tune about our humble city, eh?
