We’re really disappointed to share that the vending machine at Wakefield Kirkgate has been vandalised twice in the past 5 days.
While this is frustrating, it only strengthens our commitment to making the station a welcoming, safe, and inclusive space for everyone, especially for the LGBT+ community and wider public who rely on spaces like this to feel visible and supported.

Every week, our volunteers are working hard behind the scenes; from gardening and community art in the Community Gallery to new initiatives in the pipeline. All aimed at improving the station for everyone who passes through.
If you’d like to be part of something positive, we’d love to welcome you:
🌱 Tuesday Gardening Club: 11am to 2pm (ish)
☕ Volunteer Open Days: First Saturday of the month 11am - 2pm (part of Coffee Morning)
📍 LonGBoaT Hub, Wakefield Kirkgate Station

This is the British Transport Police text service If you ever see something suspicious or unsafe on the railway, you can discreetly report it by text on 61016 – Save it now, you might need it later
Together, we can look after our station, support one another, and continue building a space the whole community can be proud of.
