Transforming Wakefield Kirkgate with Community Support

LonGBoaT Wakefield is inviting local businesses, organisations, and individuals to support the Wakefield Kirkgate Station Adoption Project by sponsoring planters and floral displays at the station. Similar to other Community Rail Partnerships (CRPs) and Railway Station Adoption Groups, our aim is to enhance the appearance, biodiversity, and sustainability of Wakefield Kirkgate Railway Station, creating a welcoming and vibrant space for passengers and the local community.

 

Why Sponsor a Planter?

By sponsoring greenery at the station, you will:

• Improve the station’s environment, making it more attractive and welcoming.

• Promote sustainability, supporting biodiversity and improving air quality.

• Strengthen community ties, encouraging local businesses and individuals to take pride in the station’s upkeep.

• Gain visibility through your sponsorship, with recognition displayed on your planter.

 

What Does Sponsorship Cover?

Sponsorship helps cover the costs of:

• Planters (purchased by LonGBoaT Wakefield)

• Compost and plants

• Watering and maintenance

• A plaque displaying the sponsor’s name and contribution

Annual Sponsorship Fee

• £150 per year (April to March)

• Includes all planting materials, maintenance, and a plaque featuring the sponsor’s name or business.

• Listing on our website & any promotional material about the project. 

• Reduced rate for an additional year sponsorship (£100)

 

This initiative is an excellent opportunity for businesses and individuals to give back to the community, promote sustainability, and contribute to the ongoing transformation of Wakefield Kirkgate Railway Station.
