About the event
Our Community Gardening days at the railway station bring together volunteers, and partners to transform the station into a greener, more welcoming space for everyone. Throughout the day, we may water plants, plant flowers, refresh existing planters, tidy the landscaped areas, and work together to enhance the station's surroundings. The event not only improves the appearance of the station but also encourages community pride, environmental awareness, and teamwork. It provides a fantastic opportunity for people of all ages and walks of life to connect, learn new gardening skills, and make a lasting positive impact on a busy public space that is enjoyed by thousands of passengers each year.
Once you have completed an induction and safety brief, you will be able to work safely at Wakefield Kirkgate Railway Station .
You will need to wear a high viz at all times when on and around the station (we provide this).…
